Sub Surface Skin Effect

By No Comments1 min read

I shot some test footage a while ago with a local actor (Demise Harp) who starred in one of my short films called The Courier. The purpose of this test shoot was to experiment with the visual effect seen in the recent Iron Man 3¬†film where the villain has sub surface skin. It’s a cool effect and tutorials on it are all over the internet stemming from Andrew Kramer at Video Copilot. Anyway, this was a fun test and the process opens up possibilities for other types of effects based on the same principles of this one. Check out below what some of the experiments looked like.
